Down to Domme

31st August & 1st September

A good nights sleep, despite the heat, helped no doubt by a fan being on in the room all night. Deciding against breakfast in the hotel, we tried the local Patisserie instead.

Yum, yum!

Three full tanks later, we set off for the sun..........well, a thunderstorm as it turned out. It had been building all day, but thankfully we made it to the B&B Harmonie in Cenac St Julien, before it struck.

We'd decided on two nights here and settled in a twin room (all that remained), but it was nice enough, comfortable and the owner was very friendly. She even loaned us a large umbrella so that we could walk to a nearby restaurant during the storm.

The following day we did a longish walk up to Domme and wandered around the medieval village and then rode over to Sarlat and explored there.

Domme
Sarlat
Shut that door!

Sarlat is a larger medieval town, very quaint, where every other shop sells Frois Gras & Canard! Having left all our bike gear locked with the bike, we had a very enjoyable few hours walking around before a beer and then a 3 course dinner. Had to sample a bit of the aforementioned local specialities too!

Snails or Frois Gras!
